The process of removal of metals (Ni, V, Fe, Cr) from oil and fuel oil using chemical reagents containing acidic functional groups (1% o-phosphoric acid, concentrated o-phosphoric acid, sodium sulfate, and diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid) and simultaneous exposure to ultrasound is considered. It is shown that the best results are obtained for iron and chromium. Hence, the efficiency of their removal from oil objects reaches 98%, while that for nickel and vanadium—up to 55%. It is assumed that the positive effect of ultrasonic treatment is the destruction of organic metal compounds (weak π-π and n-π complexes and tetrapyrolic macrocycles) present in oils and oil products and the formation of new compounds that readily pass into the aqueous-acid phase.
