In response to the government’s long-term goal to reduce national energy consumption significantly as stated in Malaysia’s 12th plan (2020-2024), Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) has also adopted green campus program back in year 2013 by converted existing Philips Linear Long (PLL) light to more energy efficient Fluorescent Light (FL) T5 in two (2) UNITEN building classrooms. By that time, the use of Light-Emission Diode (LED) light as an alternative energy efficient light was not well received by consumers in Malaysia as it was relatively expensive compared to FL T5 light. Today, as the LED light became cheaper and easily available, a field test was chosen to be conducted in order to assess energy efficiency in College of Engineering (COE) Building, UNITEN Putrajaya Campus using LED lighting. In this study, several tests were conducted to determine power consumption and heat release. The result obtained will be analyzed and be presented to UNITEN as reference for future use.
