Electroporation is formation of the pores in the membran cell due to external electric field applied to the cell. There are two types of electroporation, conventional and supra-electroporation. Both of them have a different characteristic of electric field used. Thus, the purpose of this research is to study the influence of the intenisty of electric field, pulse width, and pulse rise time given to the cell model and then compare the result of pores density formed. For both types, the electric field intensity ranged from 0.05 kV/cm – 100 kV/cm. For conventional electroporation, the pulse width and the rise time are constant at 1 kV/cm and 2 microseconds. For supra-electroporation, the pulse width and the rise time are constant at 60 kV/cm and 2 nanoseconds. As for variation in rise time, electric field intensity, and pulse width will be constant at 1 kV/cm and 60 microseconds for conventional electroporation and 60 kV/cm and 60 nanoseconds for supra-electroporation. The results showed that electric field intensity and rise time gave significant effects in transmembrane voltage and pores density. It can be concluded that the intensity of the electric field and the rise time greatly affect the electroporation phenomenon, although pulse width did not have any effect in transmembrane voltage and pore density.
