2-D Numerical modeling of magnetotelluric method with topography effect was made using finite element method. This model is created by modeling the subsurface structure. The model used is a homogeneous earth model and conductive anomaly model with overburden layer. Response of the model was then compared with the response from the model without considering the effect of topography. Based on these responses, there is a difference between the two types of models. These differences suggest topographic effects should be incorporated into the modeling scheme.
