Generally, inflation causes decreasing purchasing power of money in time. Besides others, inflation strongly influences planning and development of defense capabilities due to long term nature of these processes. Changing price levels change purchase power of future military expenditures and modify their relation to other sorts of government spending as well as other macroeconomic indicators. This article points out specifics of inflation in defense sector and attempts to calculate approximate differences between general inflation development in given economy and development of defense specific inflation.
