Pion absorption in nuclei is discussed; the role of pion absorption in pion‐nucleus interactions, e.g., double charge‐exchange, giant monopoles, nucleon resonances (neutron/proton selectivity), and neutron radii; Δ‐N interactions in nuclei; the mechanism of pion absorption in nuclei; quark degrees of freedom in nuclei; pion absorption in few nucleon systems.
