The paper presents an application of novel Smart-Pixel Camera to the heterodyne interferometer system. This solution provides an important extension to classical heterodyne systems allowing for full-field measurements. The camera allows for direct demodulation of time dependent sinusoidal optical signals by creating I (In-phase) and Q (Quadrature-phase) output signals what leads to further calculation of amplitude and phase of analyzed signal. The preliminary experiments gave the proof-of-concept for the system and at the same time provided an information on limitations of the systems that are due to current camera specification.
