Intersubband plasmon emission induced by current injection was studied. A strong increase of the intensity was found for lower resonance frequencies, when LO phonon emission is weak. These effects are explained by the interplay of LO phonon scattering with a resonant intersubband plasmon resonance. From these results the intersubband plasmon decay time is estimated to be τ≈2.5 ps.
