In the present paper, we consider the boundary value problem of determining the parameter for the multidimensional parabolic equation. Stable numerical method is developed and solved by using the r‐modified Crank‐Nicholson difference schemes for the approximate solution of this problem. The stability estimates for the solution of these difference schemes are obtained. The theoretical statements for the solution of these difference schemes are supported by the results of the numerical example.
