Speckle noises in x‐ray image can be reduced by spatial filter method combined with beam‐focusing optics. This technique is widely used in laser optics but so far has not been applied to the x‐ray field. We have applied this speckle‐reduction method to the x‐ray region using Fresnel zone plate optics and fine cross‐slit as a spatial filter. Demonstration at SPring‐8 undulator beamline and some applications to Gabor‐type holography are shown.
