Two nondimensional density functional models of homogeneous nucleation are analyzed. A shooting procedure has been developed to solve the boundary value problems that define the critical density profiles in these models. The numerical procedure takes advantage of some asymptotic properties fulfilled by such density profiles. The knowledge of such an asymptotic behavior also facilitates the accurate evaluation of the corresponding nucleation barriers.
