2019 Photonics and Optics
The rapid development of photonics and optical technologies has led to unprecedented advances in their applications, ranging from sensing and imaging in life sciences to measuring the minuscule effects produced by General Relativity. The backbone of the discipline is the applications of lasers. In this collection, recent technological developments in laser sources, optically pumped sensing devices, laser-assisted medical diagnostics, and new materials synthesized by lasers are presented.
