Each year the Statistical Research Center and AIP gathers enrollment and degree data for all of the degree-granting physics departments in the US. The 9031 physics bachelors awarded in the class of 2021 represents the first time in over two decades that the number of physics bachelor’s degrees conferred at US physics departments has declined. The class of 2021 represents a 3% decline from the degree class of 2020.

Rosters for both physics and astronomy departments are available at http://aip.org/statistics. We offer both a PDF version of the roster and an Excel spreadsheet containing all the data. Rosters for previous years are also available.
