Last month, we saw that about half (49%) of physics bachelor’s degree recipients went to graduate study in physics or some other field. The rest entered the workforce (47%) or were unemployed (4%). For the 47% who entered the workforce, about two-thirds (66%) worked in the private sector.
Colleges and universities and high schools account for about one-sixth (17%) of the graduates entering the workforce. In December, we will take a closer look at private sector employment, and, in January, we will present typical salaries earned by physics bachelor’s degree recipients who enter the workforce.
