We describe a simple classroom optical lever that can be assembled from cheap and readily available equipment. The device is suitable for demonstrating the microscopic flexures of typical walls created by human-scale contact forces. This apparatus provides conceptual linkages and numeric data supporting Newton’s third law and is suitable for classroom use.
