This Letter is a response to the recently published Note “Virtual lab: Using spreadsheets to simulate experiments measuring viscosity, BJT NPN curves, and RL circuits.”1 Similar to the work described in that Note, we have developed a simulation program that runs on Excel to help understand RC circuits, allowing students to record the potential across a capacitor as a function of time as the capacitor charges or discharges. Our innovative use of spreadsheets and real-time simulations provides students with an engaging and practical exploration of RC circuits. The simulation details, spreadsheet file, and video explanation of the procedure can be accessed in the online supplementary material.2
