This Resource Letter provides a guide to the literature on atom optics. The application of atom optics to nanofabrication has been chosen as a convenient means to introduce and illustrate the various manipulation methods currently in use. Journal articles and books are cited for the following topics: history, candidate species, manipulation physics, shapes produced, computational aspects, surface physicochemistry, and applications and perspectives.
