The availability of thin rectangular ceramic permanent magnets, uniformly hard magnetized parallel to the small dimension, now makes it easy to present a compelling visual demonstration of the Amperian view of magnetization to large classes, and to estimate the magnetic properties by simple fundamental measurement.
