An experiment is presented in which elliptically polarized light, produced by a mica phase plate, is analyzed to determine the phase angle difference δ introduced by the plate, as a function of λ, the wavelength of the light. This functional dependence of δ on λ is then compared to the one calculated using the indices of refraction for a mica phase plate.
