The functional educational goals of moving chalkboards in the science lecture hall are reviewed and a number of different arrangements of moving chalkboards are described along with a tabulation of their advantages and disadvantages. A set of moving chalkboards has been designed and constructed to meet the educational goals in an optimum way. These boards are described in detail.
