We describe a one‐quarter seminar course on ’’Modern Physics through Science Fiction.’’ This course is designed as a supplement to the conventional introductory series of physics courses taken by undergraduates in the biological sciences. We show how a course of this kind can serve both to teach new physics and to develop the imagination.
