During the year 1967 there are major anniversaries of the births or deaths of one woman and eight men whose accomplishments and influence have been of importance to the development of physics. They are: Jean Victor Poncelet, Michael Faraday, Alexander Dallas Bache, William Allen Miller, Louis Winslow Austin, Marie Sklodowska Curie, Marie Paul Auguste Charles Fabry, Frank Lawton Olcott Wadsworth, and Walter Porter White.
