The solution by vector calculus of the motion of a projectile subjected to a constant gravity force and to a damping force proportional to the velocity is used as the basis of a velocity diagram relating the initial and final velocities to the target range and the flight time. Such a diagram can be used to solve some problems of projectile motion.
