This report contains a summary of the results obtained in a study of apparatus used in the teaching of physics at ninety-eight representative colleges and universities. The study yielded information about apparatus budgets, about the need for new items of apparatus, about the availability of prototype equipment, and about the problems involved in providing physics departments with apparatus from commercial sources.
